# YouTube Setup Guide

### Overview

StreamLink's YouTube integration provides:

* Real-time live chat display with \~5 second polling delay
* Owner, moderator, and member badge detection
* Automatic message polling during live streams

**Live Stream Required:** YouTube integration only works when you have an active live stream with chat enabled. You cannot connect to offline channels or scheduled streams.

### Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have:

* A YouTube channel with streaming enabled
* A Google account (same as your YouTube account)
* StreamLink 1.2.0+ installed on your Hytale server
